George Bull's Story
2 January, 2007

A two years old Bull that was being taken for slaughter to the Deonar Abattoir on New Year’s Day managed to escape and ran into scrap yard at Tilak Nagar where it kept the butcher’s at bay for 20 hours.

After receiving a complaint from Police Control Room, rescue team comprising a hospital staff of 4 persons went on the spot but buffalo Bull was so horrified and scared of butcher he could not allow anybody to come even close to him. After 6 hours efforts gone in vain, Bombay SPCA Staff wanted to rescue him at any cost. Next day 2nd January 2007 4 more people detailed for rescue team. Same day in the afternoon George was admitted in the hospital for further treatment and rehabilitation. Due to metal scraps, he was having cuts and bruises on his body. He was attended immediately and dressing was continued for 2 weeks.

On 6th August 2007 “George” was adopted by Bhiwandi Goushala, Dist: Thane.

George is leaving happily in the Gaushala along with his friends.
